Barry Keoghan has expressed interest in returning to the role of The Joker following his appearance as the character in The Batman.
Earlier this year, The Batman featured the debut of a new take on The Joker, with 29-year-old actor Barry Keoghan taking on the role of the Clown Prince of Crime. Best known for his work in the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed The Killing of a Sacred Deer and Chloé Zhao’s Marvel Cinematic Universe film Eternals, Keoghan is the seventh actor who has played The Joker in a live-action format, and the third youngest to do after Heath Ledger and Cameron Monaghan.
Despite The Batman‘s massive 176-minute runtime, Barry Keoghan only had one scene in the movie as The Joker. Director Matt Reeves later released another scene featuring The Joker and Robert Pattinson’s Batman, which was cut from the final version of the movie. During a recent interview with GQ, Keoghan mentioned that he’d be down to reprise the role in a sequel to The Batman.
